As suggested by its title, “Combustion and sustainability: new technologies, new fuels, new challenges” the IFRF’s 16th International Members’ Conference will focus on the technologies and methodologies - both traditional and innovative - required to optimise the use of conventional and new fuels in 21st century power generation. The widest possible range of industries will be taken into account, as will the crucial role played by industrial, semi-industrial and pilot experimental tests and trials in enabling technological transfer.

It is expected that the event will contribute to spreading best available technologies and practices among all industrial sectors, reinforcing the spirit of cooperation and team effort which is a key characteristic of the IFRF Membership Network worldwide.

The Conference will offer a combination of Podium Sessions including invited Keynote Lectures, small group Breakout Sessions related to the major themes, as well as Poster and Exhibition opportunities. Organisation is by the American Flame Research Committee together with IFRF headquarters. This is the first IFRF Members’ Conference organised outside Europe and is in line with the fact that the IFRF currently has a President from the USA.

During the Conference, delegates will also have the opportunity to meet their National Committee representative and the members of the IFRF Executive.  Meetings of the IFRF Joint and Executive Committees have been convened for the Thursday and Friday directly after the Conference and will take place at the same venue.
